Add bookmark #1 I have a TV stick I decided to try Xubuntu 13.04 on, to see how it was. It looked pretty damn nice, but there was no flash video playback. Neither Software Center not Apturl managed to execute Adobe's plugin APT, and Chrome does not seem to have an ARM version. After some searching, I found out that Chrome's flash plugin can be installed on Chromium via the following Terminal commands: Code: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:skunk/pepper-flashsudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install pepflashplugin-installer followed by this: Code: sudo apt-get install gksugksu gksu gedit /etc/chromium-browser/default (unless Xubuntu 13.04 already has a good text editor I can do it with instead)And pasting the following at the end of that file: . /usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/pepflashplayer.sh Problem is, on the third step I get an "Unable to locate package sudo apt-get install pepflashplugin-installer" error. Yesterday I updated Xubuntu to 13.10, could that be the problem or is there something else I'm missing? jafu Ars Tribunus Militum Add bookmark #2 I believe when you change revisions of Ubuntu you may need to re-add any custom PPA you added before the update. Add bookmark #3 /usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/pepflashplayer.sh The script file gets put there by the package that you install. The package gets installed by the package manager (APT). The package manager pulls it from the repositories it is configured for. The text files are in /etc/apt/sources.d or you can look at them through the Synaptic GUI.The error says it can't find the package? So you probably don't have the package repository listed correctly. The "add-apt-repository" command just adds some text to the repository config, you can go read it.The lines of text it adds are listed here: under "technical details about this PPA" Add bookmark #5 jafu: I executed the first three lines several times, so that shouldn't be the issue.chalex: so I should install / find Synaptic, then look for a line that says (what it says on Launchpad's site)?Champ: I was fearing that, and also am wondering why does Google not release a proper Chrome port to ARM. To try and make Chromebooks at least slightly more desirable, I guess. In any case, can you guys suggest me an alternate way to be able to play flash-based videos on the TV stick? I'd really rather not go back to Android.
