I open the configuration tab. I know it's still in the beta process, but it was working perfectly fine 'till I updated the browser. This is my current browser version. mholzheu last edited by Hello everybody, since one or two versions opera gx crashes and opens again immediately.I'm using version LVL3 (core: 79.0.4143.73). I have already uninstalled it and deleted the profile and cache folder.I've even gone a step further and reinstalled my Windows. The problem started last week. I was watching YouTube as usual when it crashed. That was fine but then it started crashing nonstop. The most I have gone without crashes is 5 mins. This is getting really annoying as I have now just started to use my phone instead of my laptop entirely. FYI I am on macOS 12. Could I please get help because this is getting really annoying.Thanks. leocg Moderator Volunteer. Part 3: Advanced Solution to Fix Opera GX Crashing Issues. Open a black small screen (opening opera animation) on the screen, opening for a second, closing, and this process repeating three or four times before giving up. This happens every couple of hours. Not crash, just closing, even if I have something downloading. No crash report is ever generated. I've done all the usual steps--resetting to default, disabling extensions, deleting profile, and finally reinstalling twice now and the problem persists! burnout426 Volunteer last edited by Just as one extra test, test in a standalone installation to see if it happens there too. It's not happening for me FWIW.You could also test with hardware acceleration disabled at the URL opera://settings/system just to test if that helps. pathyl @Vesper222 last edited by @vesper222 I started having the same problem using Opera GX a few days ago. It would either close within a few minutes of opening or within every hour or so. Going into the Windows Task Scheduler and disabling both Opera GX autoupdate tasks seems to have solved it. burnout426 Volunteer @GhostRider82 last edited by burnout426 @ghostrider82 Try what @pathyl did as a test to see if the problem goes away. If so, an uninstall of Opera (while not choosing to delete your data during uninstalling), the deletion of the install folder if it remains, the deletion of any Opera tasks in the task scheduler if any remain, and reinstalling Opera (with the newest version) might do the trick. You can also always test in a standalone instlallation to see how things work there to rule out issues with Opera's install files, your profile in general, extensions, and Opera Sync etc.You also might not have the Angle flag set to the best option for your GPU, which could cause instability in some cases. It could just be a bug in Opera though. You can test in standalone installations of Opera Beta and Opera Developer to see if it's something that's already fixed that will eventually reach Opera Stable (and then Opera GX). burnout426 Volunteer last edited by @GhostRider82, @Vesper222Using Opera GX too or regular Opera? What version and system is everyone one using? Goto the URL opera://about to find out. Keltia22 last edited by Opera is becoming completely unusable now. It opens and closes every ten seconds. Vesper222 last edited by I finally figured out the problem. The clue was when I uninstalled Opera and installed Chrome only for the random closures to keep happening. That's when I installed Avast and Malwarebytes and did a virus scan and sure enough, it found potential keyloggers and a few other suspicious programs. After deleting the viruses Opera now runs fine with all my extensions and I haven't had a problem since.I have no idea why these viruses were constantly.
